About Us
John McDuff
John McDuff is a sole practitioner focused exclusively on business and tax law. He has more than 20 years of experience serving discriminating clients in Austin, Texas. McDuff has structured and closed transactions worth tens of millions, including triangular transactions, money center transactions, and international transactions. He has served as an expert witness in estate law, corporate law, and tax law. In lawsuits, McDuff has secured results as high as five million dollars.
“As a solo attorney I do not have the overhead of comparable representation at a major law firm. That means no junior associates juggling your case, no layers of lawyers to get answers to questions. You work directly with me, start to finish. I file the motions. I draft the contracts. I litigate the cases. You will always have a one-on-one relationship with your attorney when you hire me.” — John McDuff
Educational and Professional Background
McDuff graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.). Before going to law school at the University of Texas, McDuff worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for Price Waterhouse, giving him a real-world understanding of his clients’ challenges, including the negative impact of disputes and the importance of resolving conflict favorably in a timely manner. McDuff earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Texas Law School in Austin, Texas. Before becoming a full-time solo practitioner, John McDuff served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service.
